As much as I love living in NYC, it definitely can get a bit much sometimes. From time to time I like to find places away from the crowds where I can recharge. For the next few weeks I’ll be featuring spa’s that enhance not only your beauty but also your soul. You know I always like to find a heartwarming story behind my life experiences and at Aveda I found just that. It’s no secret that Aveda sets high standards when giving back. From the Christmas wrapping paper they’ve used for years called Lokta made by communities in Nepal to in-store recycling initiatives and seasonal charitable contributions to different non-profit organizations, Aveda is a brand serious about change.
This past weekend I indulged in a mini facial and hair styling session at the Aveda shop in Columbus Circle. It was amazing to say the least…in fact, after my facial I couldn’t get up from the chair because I was in full relaxation mode! You might wonder how that’s possible considering there isn’t a fully equipped spa inside the store. As you can tell from the photos a spa facility wasn’t necessary! The staff really creates an environment that makes you feel as if no one else is around you. To set the tone, my facialist started by having me choose a chakra symbol that later was incorporated into my facial and hair care consultation. The calming lavender oil was divine and soothing. Through this entire experience I learned more about a good skin care routine and hair styling techniques suitable for my hair type.
So if you find yourself shopping in the Time Warner Center and need a quick pick me up-stop by the Aveda shop (or any Aveda participating store) for a FREE mini pampering session!
