This T-Shirt Brand Gives Kids An Art Education

Thomas and I are big fans of Shark Tank – which I’m thankful for because that’s where I learned about UMANO. This company had me the minute I heard they supported arts education. I don’t know about you but don’t you agree that art education doesn’t always get the support it should?! Art is usually the first thing that goes out the door when schools have to cut back. The founders (two brothers!) wanted to help kids living in poverty that don’t have the resources to take creative classes. Alex and Jonathan believe that art is more than just drawing, they believe is learning thinking and problem solving skills. The idea is as simple as this:

  1. Kids draw the Art
  2. UMANO then prints the Art by hand on the t-shirt
  3. You purchase a t-shirt
  4. UMANO then donates one bag full of school supplies to a child! (they’ve donated over 20,000 backpacks so far!)

The t-shirts are chic, affordable and give back. You can’t get better than that!

The website has videos of all the kids sharing their drawings -Do you want to meet the kid who drew the sketch on my t-shirt? I’ll warn you that watching this may cause you to buy t-shirts for everyone you know! Click here and press play.

So cute and what a great cause. Almost teared up reading this. I loved art class as a kid, and the thought that others don’t have access to explore their creativity is so sad to me. Can’t wait to buy a shirt.

I felt the same way – it really touched my heart. Of all the philanthropy initiatives I read about, I rarely see one for education!! Thank you for stopping by and giving me some love.
