We just got back from a long weekend in the Catskills (about 3 hours away from NYC) with our friends Stephanie and Andrew. We had a fantastic time and I can’t wait to show you pictures of the lodge! Before I write up the travel guide, I wanted to share what I packed for this three- day weekend getaway – as promised, I plan to feature what I pack for every trip I take. I get a lot of questions from people asking what to wear for trips and because I love to pack ( but hate to unpack! lol), I figured why not give you some inspo!
The first thing I do when Thomas and I book a trip is start thinking of what style I’ll be going for and what pieces do I own or need to buy. I start brainstorming by going on Pinterest and looking at photos of the ambiance and architecture of the location where we’re traveling and let that inspire me. For this weekend getaway, I know I wanted a boho chic style because we were going to be up in the mountains in a rustic but stylish property. For an urban weekend getaway, here’s what you can pack:
SWEATERS/KNITWEAR
Always pack a sweater because it will get chilly up in the mountains, even if you go in the summer!
BOHO STYLE SKIRT/DRESS
I love clothes with some movement – anytime I’m spending time outdoors, I try to incorporate a boho style wardrobe. It’s easy to pack and it’s a nice change from the more fitted clothes I wear in the city.
BOOTIES
WOOL HATS
So simplistic and practical yet gorgeous! love!
i usually dont put much thought into what what I pack (usually over packing with pieces that i randomly select and not pre-planning outfits) but thanks for inspiring me to pack more efficiently and with style !
I love your style, chic and confortable. The dress seems gorgeous <3
I LOVE everything in this post!
Especially those booties. 🙂
