Insider Travel Intel: YSL Opens A Museum In Marrakech

The Yves Saint Laurent Museum, in Marrakech – Photography by Dan Glasser.

Our dreams have come true! There is now an entire museum dedicated to one of our favorite designers, Yves Saint Laurent. As if there wasn’t any more reason to want to travel to Morocco – I now may have to speed up my travels to the beautiful Marrakech just for this ( well, and for everything else this incredible country offers). Why Morocco you may ask? Well the late YSL was always inspired by the culture and colors of the country, it was said that he chose the colors of many of his collections due to his experience and love for Marrakech.  He actually loved it so much that he owned a home with his partner Pierre Bergé.  The 43, 000 square foot museum is near the Jardin Majorelle and it will display permanently the collections of YSL along with a theater, research library, and cafe.

Are any of you traveling to Morocco? Please, do tell and be sure to add this to the list! xo

The new YSL museum looks amazing… The prospect of visiting his house and gardens in Marrakesh is equally seductive. No plans in the near future to visit, but I hope I get to see these two sooner rather than later!
