It’s December and I’m still dreaming of our trip to Greece – how quickly it all goes?! Lucky for me, I get to relive it all through the blog and the minute people say they are traveling to Greece, I starting blabbing about it….even if I’m not asked lol! If you remember reading the Folegandros guide then you already know how much I LOVED this tiny island that’s only 45 minutes from Santorini. I have to be honest, I had never heard of Folegandros until we started researching where we would go. I’m thankful that Anemi Hotel is Design Hotel and SPG recognized property because that’s how we found it!
The Anemi Hotel sits by the port, making it a quick 2-3 minute drive from the ferry drop off ( you know it’s going to be a good time when you discover the only way to get there is by boat!). Blending with it’s surrounding, the whitewash verandas with patios were designed with old and new greek elements that don’t disrupt the natural beauty of the island. The rooms all have different designs and are very simple. The one thing you must know is that this hotel is not for the folks seeking glamour, in fact, the entire island is very low key. Folegandros is still enjoying an older era – one that moves at the pace of the locals and not tourists so if you’re trying to plan a trip to Greece, maybe do what we did which was combine glamour which you will find in Santorini with a more under the radar island like Folegandros. Thomas and I can’t wait to return one day…and when we do, I hope that it retains its simplicity and understated beauty.

Rooms: Very minimalistic. 44 rooms with garden or sea views, suites have pools.
Restaurants: Lure Seafood Resturant and this is also where you have breakfast/lunch. The seated breakfast is great with a variety of healthy options.
Location: Karavostassis, Folegandros, Karavostasis 840 11, Greece. 45 min away by Ferry from Santorini.
Suitable for: The dreamers, silence seekers, minimalist and beach lovers.
