A Perfect Day: Soho

As a tourist you don’t come to New York City and not visit Soho, it just doesn’t happen! And if you live in New York City, you most likely are meeting girlfriends on the weekend for brunch and shopping.  Soho is considered one of the best shopping destinations in the city – with a ton of shops for everyone’s budget! The best way to experience this area is to get there early – because just like all of Manhattan, this area can get super crowded! If you’re there during the weekend, try to arrive early so you can enjoy the empty streets while sipping coffee and eating a croissant from Dean & Deluca on Broadway.  At around 10 AM, make your way to the shops – remember that Broadway is not the only street with stuff to do – if you walk off to Wooster, Mercer and even West Broadway you will find gems as well! Plus, the streets off of Broadway have so much character and have less foot traffic giving you the opportunity to just enjoy the area and take it all in.

I hope you enjoy this itinerary and as always, leave me any questions or comments below. Happy Travels! 🙂

8:00 AM

Start your day with coffee and croissant at Dean & Deluca on Broadway and Prince Street. I LOVE Dean & Deluca because they sell very high-quality gourmet food and it’s always fun to discover new products! The streets will be empty during this time so grab that coffee and walk around! If you want to take pictures and enjoy Soho without the masses then do it at this time.

Here are other cafe’s in the area with great coffee: Maman, La Colombe, and Cafe Integral

Dean & Deluca: 560 Broadway, New York, NY

10:00 AM

Shop your hearts out! My favorite in the area is Zara, Bloomingdales, TopShop, Intermix, Chanel, and Free People.

12:00 PM

Grab a table at La Mercerie for lunch. You’ve already read so much about this place because I’m so obsessed with EVERYTHING about it. If you missed my last post, click here for all the details.

Other favorites in the area are Jack’s Wife Freda, Balthazar, and Chalk Point Cafe

La Mercerie: 53 Howard St, New York, NY

2:00 PM

If you’re craving sweets then head to Laduree on West Broadway for macarons and a glass of champagne! It’s NYC’s biggest Laduree with a beautiful indoor and outdoor courtyard! The food is not particularly my favorite but I go for the desserts. 🙂

Laduree: 398 West Broadway, New York, NY

5:00 PM

Get a facial at Haven Spa! This pretty spot has a ton of great options  — including a vitamin C infusion mask that boosts skin’s radiance!

Haven Spa: 250 Mercer Street, New York, NY

8:00 PM

Have a fabulous dinner at the French restaurant  Le Coucou inside the 11 Howard Hotel. You will recognize the aesthetic of the space because it was designed by the same firm behind the folks who founded and designed La Mercerie! In fact, both Chef’s are married to each other. 🙂 For Le Coucou, try to make reservations as soon as you can because it books very fast.

Other options are Mercer Kitchen and Mexican restaurant  La Esquina.

10: 00 PM

Need more cocktails?! Well, end your day with a nightcap right upstairs from Le Coucou – 11 Howard Hotel has a trendy lounge called, The Blond! It’s sleek, sophisticated and draws in a big “it” crowd – enjoy!
