I Love Christmas Markets

One of the things I look forward to every year during the holidays is the Christmas markets.  I usually visit the few in NYC but never before had been to any other outside of New York until this year! As some of you might already know, I recently took a trip to Milan with my cousin.  Most of the trip was spent in Milan but we did a day trip to Lake Como which is a place dear to my heart since Thomas and I honeymooned there after our Italian wedding!

Once we got off the train which by the way, was super easy to take from Milan, we walked over to Como to enjoy the market. I’ve always wanted to visit Holiday markets in Europe since it’s very traditional and some even go as far back as 1294! The special part of the market in Como was the backdrop of the mountains and the lake which made the whole thing seem like a scene out of a movie. We strolled the market during the day before heading to the Lake Como village of Cernobbio and also at night where we got an even better holiday feel. Even though it was late in the evening, the market was busy with locals and tourist shopping and watching lighting show which was just so beautiful!! I seriously didn’t want to leave! There is just something so magical about holiday markets, it really celebrates what I love most about the season which is my love for tradition, family and holiday cheer!
