A 2017 Travel Recap

I can’t believe the year has come and gone!  To be completely honest, this year flew by and I know I may say that every year but this one went by the fastest. As I think back to my travel experiences this past year, I’d say it was a pretty great year. We traveled to places that have been on our bucket list for quite some time and created everlasting memories.  So to culminate the year, I wanted to do a recap of my trips and share with you what I loved most about each.  Please let me know if you have ANY questions or if you’re planning a trip to any of these countries.

CUBA

After growing up in an era that wouldn’t allow Americans to travel to Cuba, we were eager to experience the culture and the beauty of this island. We made the most of it by spending time in Havana, Vinales, and Trinidad – we met the loveliest people and can’t wait to return! It was a humbling experience and one that I’ll never forget.

ARIZONA

Arizona was more of a symbolic trip for me than a vacation. This was my first time traveling with my brother and dad in a very long time ( we were kids last time this happened) – and out of all the trips I took this past year, this one holds a very special place in my heart. The three of us had a great time      (sadly my youngest brother couldn’t make it) hiking, eating and just spending much-needed quality-time together. It made me realize how much I wanted this time with my family and reminded how necessary it was for me to make time for new adventures with loved ones.

CHARLESTON

Thomas and I do an annual American trip to celebrate Independence Day in a city we’ve never been to. Charleston couldn’t have been any more perfect for the 4th of July. I mean, it was definitely extremely hot and we all know I don’t do that well in the heat but nonetheless, we had a great time and ate our way through this beautiful city! If you missed the guide, read it here – it’s probably one of my best travel guides! 🙂

GREECE

We finally went to Greece!! Out of all my trips in 2017, this was the most epic for us. I still can’t believe I was able to finally visit this incredibly magical place. I think what I loved about it the most was how we were able to experience city life in Athens, magical sunsets in Santorini and tranquility in the remote island of Folegandros. I’m already day dreaming of going back soon.

MILAN

A few days in this metropolitan city is all you need to fall in love with it. This was my second time in Milan but it all felt so new since the city has so much to offer. Living like a local in a new country is something I dream about and for this trip, I did just that, I was able to wake up every morning and take on the day without a set plan. Don’t miss out on my travel guide – check it out here.
